Golf has for centuries been a sport that’s enjoyed by the whole family. If you want your kids to enjoy a day at the golf course like you do, patience and positivity is essential. Keep the following golf tips in mind to ensure that your children enjoy themselves while they learn to play the game.
Let Your Kids Play
It’s important that your children learn to play the game correctly. But this should not be your top priority when teaching a young child to play golf. Teaching kids golf should not be done by hammering them with rules and proper form. Instead, allow your kids to explore the game and have fun with it, praise your kids along the way, and answer any questions they have.
Play During Low Season
Late fall and winter are perfect times to take your kids to the golf course. The course won’t be crowded, so you and your child can take plenty of time to play the game without worrying about holding up other golfers.
Use Properly Sized Equipment
With kids it’s natural to want to buy a club that’s too long so that they can grow into it. But a club that’s too long, too heavy, or too stiff brings about unwanted swing habits. Invest in the right equipment and your kids will enjoy the game more, perform better, and foster a good swing technique.
Kneel When You Talk
When you instruct your kids or give them advice on how to play golf, be sure that you kneel down rather than stand up. The idea is that you should communicate on their level, both in terms of where and how you talk to them. Avoid using convoluted terminology and just stick with simple phrases instead.

Getting the girls together for a spa party is a great way to relax, unwind, and strengthen important friendships. Whether you want to get everyone together for a birthday, bachelorette party, baby shower, or pre-holiday stress reliever, a spa day is a great way to celebrate. If you are planning a spa party, these tips will help ensure that you and your guests have a good time.
Make a Good First Impression
Greet your guests with a hot towel rolled in mint leaves. This will relax your guests and give them a lasting first impression that sets the tone of your spa party. If your guests have arrived with sunglasses, treat each pair to a quick spray and wipe.
Focus on Décor
Transport your guests to a state of relaxation by decorating your home with attractive centerpieces. If you want to go all out, buy a few tufts of wheat grass or a bouquet of lilies. Add softly scented candles to set the mood.
To ensure a relaxing time for all, hire an aesthetician and masseuses to offer professional spa services that will pamper you and your girlfriends. Alternatively, you can set up stations where everyone takes turns offering manicures, pedicures, scalp and hair conditioning, massages, and facials.
To keep your guests happy, buy the ingredients you need to make your favorite finger foods and cocktails. You can make your own or go to the grocery store and find a lot of finger foods pre-made in the frozen food isle.
You may be surprised to discover that having your spa party at a luxury spa can save you money, eliminate party-planning stress, and ensure a more relaxing time for everybody. The Fabulous Hubcaps took concert-goers on a nostalgic trip down memory lane last Friday at Turf Valley! Attendees brought their dancing shoes for an evening of dancing, and some even came in costume dressed for their favorite era of music.
Turf Valley and The Fabulous Hubcaps held their first partnered concert 34 years ago and haven’t missed a year since. Current members of the Classic Rock & Roll band are Dean Andrews, Lorraine Allen, Michael Shipley, Denny Cook, Tommy Dildy, Barry Holober, and Don “The Reedman” Mark.
This year, the band played their melodic renditions of Doo-Wop Group Harmony, Classic Rock & Roll, Rock-A-Billy, Motown, and R&B classics. They also took their musical selection beyond the 50s and 60s eras to include music from later years to now. New music included selections from Elton John, Billy Joel, and more!
The Fabulous Hubcaps also celebrates its 40th Anniversary; a Hall of Fame induction, countless sold-out shows, and rave fan reviews, including praise from the White House. Lead singer Denny Cook is the only remaining original member and continues to help define the group’s legacy.
Thank you to The Fabulous Hubcaps for continuing to bring Rock & Roll to Turf Valley and all of our rockin’ concert-goers for coming to dance the night away!
